vTiger 6.1 Demo
vTiger team has been working really hard to keep up with the demand of open source version of vTiger. As the release date of vTiger 6.1 is getting closer(targeting the end of June) most of the functionality is already available in the TRUNKÂ for public to testing.
vTiger 6.1 includes 70+ bug fixes and enhancements. List of bugs fixed in vTiger 6.1 Demo can be found at their official announcement page. Few things you will notice in vTiger 6.1 Demo that vTiger 6.0 does not have is:
- Enhanced Listview Search – vTiger has really stepped up it’s game and improved the search capabilities significantly.
- PBX Manager – A long waited add-on which was not part of the 6.0 release is now available on vTiger 6.1
- More color Themes – Individual users can now select their theme using the icon on the menu bar.
- Redesigned interface – vTiger 6.0 had a completely redesigned interface, however they didn’t stop there and made it even better.
- Webforms – Huge improvement allowing to create vTiger webforms for any module.

I am using vtiger crm 6 and in the workflows > add conditions.. the “From Portal” condition is missing. How do I add it?

When you Checkout the trunk and download it…not sure how to install that…do you install the 6.0 version with database and then just overwrite those files in the trunk to the existing directory?
The config.inc.php is blank in the trunk…so wondering how to exactly install the new version…doing it on XAMPP on a windows desktop for testing purposes.

It’s a setup folder, svn checkout, open it in your browser an walk through the steps. You have to install it, which will create the the database and populate the config.inc.php
I go to the xampp/htdocs/vtiger
I go there and I get the following errors…many lines after this but all on the same…..not sure what is the deal…

Is there any news on restoring the Vtiger 5.4 functionality in Vtiger 6.1? Or for some of our customers, is there an easy alternative downgrade procedure from 6.0 to 5.4 maintaining all data?
Hans – there’s no way of downgrading other than doing a custom vTiger migration. vTiger 6.1 will have most of the 5.4 functionality, not sure about global search, but the search has been improved. The PBX Manager will be available as well as the Scheduled Reports, My Sites and few other modules plus a lot of bug fixes.

Hi, are there any news? There are so many bugs in version 6.0 (workflows, reports, eMailtemplates etc.), so we are really interested in migrating to 6.1…
Your demo version looks fine (but I don’t know if many bugs come from migrating and I think your demo version is not a migrated one, originally a 5.0.3 version?).

Evi – the official release date is not set yet. The reason it was delayed is because of the marketplace that will be available on 6.1. Realistically you are looking at 2-4 months. Beta isn’t even released yet so hopefully by the end of the year.
As far as bugs on 6.0 – if you migrated from 5.0.x – I’m sure you will have a lot of bugs, we ran into the same, the older version you had – the more bugs there will be in 6.0. We managed to resolve most of them, at least the ones we found, some of the clients decided to do a custom migration which eliminates the migration process and you are basically starting with fresh 6.0 instance and your data.

Yes – that doesn’t need to be enabled on the demo as we are not sending emails
this does not work either on the official website of the open source version of vtiger crm, I installed it to try and this part of the software does not work at all
