Availability Switch for Users in Vtiger is a customization that allows to make a user available/unavailable for the “assigned to” field. if a user is unavailable then records cannot be assigned to that specific user.
For example, if one of the CRM user is on leave, then the status of that user can be switched to unavailable and no records can be assigned to that user.
After the customization each user will see available/unavailable switch top right corner of the CRM window. Using it they can tag themselves as Available and Unavailable. If the user is unavailable then tht user cannot be selected in “Assigned to” field
When the switch is in Available state that means the records (Tickets Leads Contacts, etc.) can be assigned to that user
When the switch is in Not-available stat that means the records (Tickets Leads Contacts, etc.) cannot be assigned to that user
Lets take a look at this customization with an example for better understanding.
The user “VTE DEV” is available
Hence, in assigned to field the user “VTE DEV” is selectable
The user “VTE DEV” is Unavailable
Hence, in assigned to field the user “VTE DEV” is Unselect able
This work through the “Employees” module. You can access it through the “Tools”
Using “Employees” module you can check which users are “Available” and which are ” Unavailable”
You can access the record and check when was the switch used for that user by going to its updates
You can update the availability of other users from Employees module as well
For example, here we are making user “Heather Krojn” unavailable
You can also mass edit the status of the users using Employees module
Select the Users, whose availability status you want to edit

You can also use this feature in list view assignment column of a module. While assigning the record in list view assignment, the records can not be assigned to the users who are “Unavailable”
The user “Cher Hugill” is made “Unavailable” by the admin
Here in this screenshot, the ticket cannot be assigned to the “Cher Hugill” as he is unavailable
This feature also works for the buttons
Here admin is trying to reassign a ticket to “Cher Hugill” using reassign button
But it the user “Cher Hugill” in not clickable as he is “Unavailable”
