In VTiger 7, there were couple of major changes made to how the related records created or opened. Quick create is one of those changes made. Once you are in a record and trying add a related record, it opens the Quick Create popup and not the full form. You have to click on the “Full Form” button in order to access it. Another would be the summary popup of related records. Once a related record is opened, instead of opening the full page, it gives a summary popup with key details on it. To open the full related record, you’d need to hit the “Details” button.

This is fine for some companies who have basic and minor details in records. But for the power users, it’s just annoying to have just few fields first while creating new or opening a related record. The extra click adds lot of extra hours per company per day as well as frustration of doing so. This would have been fine if these popups were optional. But sadly, this is not the case.

We customized the code of VTiger 7 for the companies who does not use Quick Create and Summary Popups at all. This customization removes the Quick Create and Summary popups for related records completely from the system.

That means, if you click a related record or create a new, you won’t have to deal with the extra popups anymore. The development team was real careful with the customizations. The Quality Assurance section tested it on several levels and made sure it does not affect anymore code than it needs to.

We can also make it work if you want to keep these related record popups on the system selectively:

1. If you want to keep one of Quick Create or Summary Popup and get rid of the other
2. If you want to keep one or both of the popups for selective modules (whichever modules you want affected for either individually)
3. If you want to make it work with VTE Summary Widget extension but not with the standard functionality or vice versa
