Synchronize your contacts and calendar events

Gmail is among the top email services being used for professional practices and sales operations, and there is a good chance that your company resort to it too. Managing your Gmail contacts and calendar events can be difficult and Vtiger 7 doesn’t leave you alone when times are tough. With Vtiger 7, you can constantly synchronize the contacts and calendar events from your Gmail to the Vtiger CRM and vice versa.

Yes, down the sewer, because those resources could have been saved. On successful integration, you can collaborate your contacts and calendar events instantly.

You can not only store all your contacts from Gmail to Vtiger CRM database, but the data can also be synched back from CRM to Gmail. So both of the sides keep updated.

The process is pretty simple:

1. Go in to the Menu in Vtiger 7
2. Then under “Essentials” press Contacts
3. In the left side of list view of contacts under Extensions, click on Google

Sync Settings

Click Sync Settings on the right

Sign in with your Google Account; the red button at the bottom.

You can now configure the Google contact group and Calendar Events that has to sync with Vtiger contacts.

Choose the way you want to sync the data, i.e. sync both ways, sync Vtiger CRM with Google, or vice versa.

You can also create custom field mapping by clicking Configure under Field Mapping in Vtiger 7 to synchronize the custom data from Google Contacts (i.e, Code, Province, City, etc).

After filling in the information, click Save button

Click View under Field Mapping to display the mapped events.

Syncing Contacts and Calendar Events

Configuration of the sync settings is the first step. After that, you’ll be asked to trigger the synchronization process. It will update your contacts and events on both sides. The process takes few moments depending upon the number of contacts and events that are to be synched from the Gmail or Vtiger 7 account.

After archiving contact & calendar records successfully, a report will be generated in Vtiger CRM, that will report the upgradations and modifications performed during the process.

The values are clickable as well as downloadable in the output generated by the Vtiger 7. The exported file is in .csv format that is widely used.

Not only the current records, but the updated and deleted records can also be synchronized to make sure that both tools have latest information at disposal.

Note! Records are synced in batches. Vtiger 7 syncs 100 records at a time. If there are more records to be synced on either side, a message is displayed on the sync report. By clicking on Sync Now button, you can complete achieving records on both ends
